Chuck, 3x06, “Chuck vs. the Nacho Sampler”

Episode Title: Chuck vs. the Nacho Sampler
Writers: Matt Miller and Scott Rosenbaum
Director: Allan Kroeker
Originally Aired: 02/01/2010
Grade: A-

This wasn’t as good as the previous episode, but it also wasn’t anywhere near as bad as the premiere. It makes sense that as Chuck gets closer and closer to being a “real spy,” he will experience various situations that he’s already been through from the other side, the “spy” side as opposed to the “nerdy civilian” side.

I only have a couple of nitpicks. Firstly, I could have done without Ellie finding out about Chuck’s trip to Paris. I understand that they want to create an arc about how immersing himself in the spy life will affect his relationships with family and friends, but all Ellie gets to do anymore is nag Chuck and Awesome.

My second nitpick is that Chuck’s first interaction with Manoosh was a perfect example of how to write Chuck as an out-of-character moron to serve to episode’s plot. I know he’s more competent that that, especially given how well he did on the second try.
