I had a hard time buying Rachel getting a big scary crush on Will, whom she’s accused of trying to ruin her life on several occasions. It’s not like Will just started being cute, so if she was going to get a crush on him, I’d think it would have been when the club first began and he hadn’t had a chance to get in her way. At least Rachel’s voice-over acknowledged their rocky history, and of course, the actors played off each other hilariously, especially when they were singing. Poor Rachel seems to get that look of wide-eyed terror from most of her male singing partners.
Obviously Puck blurting out to Mercedes that he’s Quinn’s baby daddy was a bad idea, but I can’t really blame him for not being able to hold it in anymore. He’s just a kid, and he sees Finn getting sympathy from their friends, saw him failing to provide for Quinn and the baby, has been painfully rejected by Quinn, and is too wrapped up in his own frustration and angst to see how miserable Finn is. I also think Mercedes was full of shit telling Puck to move on because he had “no business messing up that girl’s life.” Quinn messed up her own life, and it’s not at all fair what she’s doing to either boy. That doesn’t mean my heart didn’t break for her when she tried to get through to her parents.
Was the group ballad to Finn and Quinn a little sappy? Sure it was, but who cares? Just go with it, don’t think too hard, and let your heart be warmed.
Miscellaneous Stuff
-I was a little confused by Finn’s “there are so many things I’ll never get to say to my little girl” anxieties, because I don’t remember Quinn telling him (or Puck, for that matter) that she’s giving the baby up for adoption. If she told either of them on-camera, it must not have been very memorable.
