Supernatural, 4x15, “Death Takes a Holiday”

Episode Title: Death Takes a Holiday
Writer: Jeremy Carver
Director: Steve Boyum
Originally Aired: 03/12/2009
Grade: B+

So Sam’s been flexing his badass demon powers in secret and is now even more badass. And he’s keeping secrets from Dean. Neither of those things is going to end well.

I’m not normally one to harp about the writers dumbing Dean down, but it was a little much that Dean suddenly forgot everything he already knew about reapers so Sam could play the know-it-all exposition fairy again.

Tessa way… okay. Definitely not as compelling as the first time. I almost didn’t recognize Lindsey McKeon because she looks like she lost about twenty pounds and got a nose job since I last saw her.

Boring Pamela died boringly, and sort of suicidally, since Sam suggested a doctor and she insisted on a last drink instead.

Castiel is back! And pretty! And sassy!

And both brothers received some good advice from Pam and Tessa.

And this is pretty much what my thoughts about this show have been reduced to: a laundry list of what happened in each episode. Perhaps the fact that the show is essentially about only two people who spend way too much time together is starting to take its toll. I still enjoy the show, for the most part, but I doubt I’ll continue to write about it next season.
